Japanese Dressing

You adapt the dressing to your taste by adding other ingredients, such as grated onion, carrots; apples, ginger, and sesame. And what about some wasabi sauce to add some piquancy?

Cooking Tips for Japanese Dressing
- Adjust the Sweetness: Use fresh orange juice for a natural sweetness, but if you prefer a milder flavor, substitute it with a bit of apple juice or reduce the sugar.
- Add Depth with Sesame Oil: While this recipe doesn’t call for sesame oil, adding a few drops can enhance the authentic taste and provide a rich, nutty flavor.
- Blend Thoroughly: To achieve the smooth texture typical of Japanese dressings, blend the ingredients until very fine. A high-speed blender works best.
- Customize Your Spice Level: For an extra kick, add a touch of wasabi or freshly grated horseradish. These ingredients provide heat without overpowering the other flavors.
- Chill for Best Flavor: While the dressing can be served immediately, chilling it for at least 30 minutes allows the flavors to meld for a better taste.
- Use It Beyond Salads: This versatile dressing works wonderfully as a marinade for grilled vegetables, fish, or even tofu.
