Ingredients

  • 480 grams white chocolate, preferably Callebaut chocolate
  • 15 centiliters crème fraîche, or heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Grand Marnier
  • 100 grams shredded coconut
  • 100 grams sesame seeds
  • 100 grams almonds

Instructions

  • Break chocolate into small pieces and put in a pan with the cream and the Grand Marnier. Bring slowly to a light boil while mixing to combine the ingredients. Remove from the heat and let cool down at room temperature first. Then in the fridge for 2 hours. That mixture is called a "ganache." You want the ganache to be just thick enough to form the truffle balls.
  • Prepare three bowls with the shredded coconut, sesame seeds, and almonds in each of them. Take a small knob of the mixture in the palm of your hand and roll it with your other hand to shape it into a ball. Roll the truffle into one of the three bowls to cover the surface with one of the three ingredients. Place on parchment or wax paper. Leave in the fridge before serving.

Notes

You can make crème fraîche or get it at some specialty stores.

Tips for Perfect White Chocolate Truffles:

  • Choose Quality Chocolate: Using high-quality white chocolate like Callebaut gives the truffles a rich, smooth texture and enhances the overall flavor.
  • Temperature Control: When heating the chocolate, bring it to a gentle simmer to avoid burning. Cooling the ganache in stages (first at room temperature, then in the fridge) helps achieve the right consistency for rolling.
  • Coating Variety: Get creative with coatings! While coconut, sesame seeds, and almonds add a delightful crunch, try using finely chopped pistachios or cocoa powder for more options.
  • Storage: Truffles can be kept in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. Let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving to bring out the flavors.

Enjoy crafting these delicious white chocolate truffles, which make a beautiful dessert or thoughtful holiday gift!
